Jeimer Candelario moving to reduced role

Reds manager Terry Francona informed Jeimer Candelario on Monday that he will move into a reduced role due to his early-season slump, reports Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. Francona stated, "We tried to explain to him, too, that you can't chase hits. That's a hard way to play." Candelario is batting just .113 with a .411 OPS over 22 games. (Mark Sheldon)
Fantasy Impact:
Candelario's slow start (.113 AVG, .411 OPS) has resulted in diminished playing time moving forward. With Spencer Steer recovered from a shoulder issue, Noelvi Marte playing well since his promotion, and Austin Hays activated from the IL (freeing up Gavin Lux from outfield duty), Candelario loses a clear path to regular at-bats at the corner infield spots or DH.
