Chad Green records first save Thursday
by Bruno Mulé | Fri, May 9th 12:59pm EDT
Chad Green picked up his first save of 2025 in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Angels, throwing a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts. The save chance arose with closer Jeff Hoffman having worked the previous two days (allowing six runs across those outings) and setup man Yimi Garcia having yielded seven runs over his last two appearances.
Fantasy Impact:
Thursday's save was Green's first of the season. He currently holds a 3.63 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP through 17.1 innings, alongside a 17:4 K:BB ratio. The opportunity came with Jeff Hoffman and Yimi Garcia having either worked recently or struggled in their prior outings.
