Yu Darvish (elbow) to begin rehab assignment Wednesday

Yu Darvish (elbow) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday, San Diego Padres manager Mike Shildt announced Monday. The veteran right-hander has been recovering from right elbow inflammation that first surfaced in mid-March. He threw 48 pitches in a simulated game last week. (Kyle Glaser)
Fantasy Impact:
Darvish is expected to increase his pitch count in Wednesday's outing for El Paso. He will likely need at least a couple of rehab starts before being ready to rejoin the Padres' rotation.
