The San Diego Padres have signed pitcher Yu Darvish to a six-year, $108 million contract extension.
Fantasy Impact
Darvish was set to hit free agency following the 2023 season, but instead his new deal with kick in right away. It's a lengthy term for the 36-year-old, but Darvish is coming off a quality season that saw him turn in a 3.10 ERA and 20.8% K-BB% across 31 starts and 194 2/3 innings pitched. It's the third six-year deal of Darvish's career and he will presumably finish his career with the Padres at age 42 at the end of the 2028 campaign.
