Nate Lavender (elbow) to throw first true bullpen Tuesday
by Bruno Mulé | Mets Correspondent | Tue, May 13th 12:43pm EDT
Nate Lavender (elbow) is scheduled to throw his first true bullpen session of the season on Tuesday. The Tampa Bay Rays southpaw, who is recovering from an internal brace procedure on his left elbow performed last May, completed what he described as a "short" bullpen session last weekend and stated he felt "unreal" in recent throwing sessions. Fantasy Impact:
Following Tuesday's more traditional side session, Lavender is expected to steadily increase his throwing volume and intensity. His progression will likely include facing live hitters and simulated games before an extended minor-league rehab assignment. A Rule 5 selection, Lavender could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list and make his MLB debut at some point in June or July.
