Roki Sasaki (shoulder) shut down from throwing

by Nicholas Rodriguez | Dodgers Correspondent | Wed, May 14th 9:00pm EDT

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said there are no plans for Roki Sasaki to undergo any medical procedures on his right shoulder. Instead, he’ll be shut down from throwing for the time being. (Fabian Ardaya on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Sasaki said he’s been dealing with shoulder discomfort over his last couple of starts, but didn’t directly attribute it to the recent dip in velocity. He noted the discomfort isn’t as severe as what he experienced last year and hopes to use this time to make some mechanical adjustments. Depending on how long he’s shut down, his stint on the IL could extend beyond the 15-day minimum. Clayton Kershaw will take his spot in the rotation and is slated to start Saturday against the Los Angeles Angels.
