Tromp has been diagnosed with a lower back strain after exiting Monday’s game against the Texas Rangers. With Gary Sanchez as the only catcher on the active roster, he’s expected to see increased playing time behind the plate. The Orioles will likely add another catcher once Tromp is officially placed on the injured list.
