The Giants traded outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to the Royals on Thursday, opening a spot for McCray. The 24-year-old debuted for 37 games with the Giants last season and hit .260 with 14 homers and 26 stolen bases in 102 games with Triple-A Sacramento this season.
