Amaya is jettisoned off the club's 40-man roster with infielder Chase Meidroth returning from the injured list on Friday. The 26-year-old Amaya has struggled mightily in limited big-league action this season, hitting just .106 without a homer alongside two stolen bases in 73 trips to the plate.
