Francisco Alvarez was removed from Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres after getting hit on the arm by a pitch in the eighth inning. (MLB.com)

Alvarez was hit by a 99.8 mph fastball, but the New York Mets do not consider the injury serious. He is not scheduled for X-rays or other tests and is considered day-to-day. If he misses any time, Hayden Senger would start behind the plate.
