Will Smith underwent additional imaging which revealed a hairline fracture in his right hand, a diagnosis that makes his status for the beginning of the postseason in question. (MLB.com)

While Will Smith has begun catching bullpen sessions, he has not yet begun to hit and will need more time to recover from a hairline fracture. His return during the regular season is doubtful, and he could also miss the start of the playoffs. In his absence, Ben Rortvedt will continue to see the bulk of the opportunities behind the plate.
