Kyle Hendricks retires from professional baseball

Kyle Hendricks is retiring from professional baseball, ending his 12-year career. The veteran right-hander, who turns 37 next month, posted a 4.79 ERA over his final five seasons. (Maddie Lee)

There had been speculation that the 2025 season was Hendricks' last, and that is now confirmed. He finishes his career with a 3.79 ERA, one ERA title (2016), and two top-10 finishes in Cy Young award voting.
