Mike Trout preparing for outfield return

Angels general manager Perry Minasian stated Wednesday that Mike Trout is putting in significant effort to play the outfield again. The 34-year-old began the previous season as the starting right fielder but was relegated to full-time designated hitter duties after returning from a knee injury in late May. (Taylor Blake Ward)

Fantasy Impact:

Trout aims to resume defensive work in 2026, though the team will likely still utilize him frequently in the designated hitter slot. The veteran slugger is looking to bounce back after slashing .232/.359/.439 with 26 home runs last season, a campaign in which his strikeout rate climbed to 32 percent.
