The Pirates have drafted Orioles right-handed prospect Carter Baumler with the fifth pick in the Rule 5 Draft. (MLB.com)

Baumler, 23, appeared at three minor-league levels in 2025, maxing out at Double-A. The righty posted a stout 2.04 ERA in 28 appearances and 39 2/3 innings of work. He must remain on the Pirates' active roster for the entire 2026 season or be offered back to the Orioles for $50,000.
