Each week during the fantasy baseball season, I take a look at the relief pitcher landscape to aid with waiver wire and trade decisions. Some high-end relievers made their return from the injured list (IL) this week. Let’s see how that changes the reliever landscape.

Biggest Risers
Jhoan Duran (RP – PHI) | Injured List
Jhoan Duran returned from the IL this week. Before he got hurt, he had a 1.35 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 10.8 K/9 and five saves. The Phillies are currently second in the National League East and will need to rely on Duran to close out close games.
Raisel Iglesias (RP – ATL) | Injured List
Raisel Iglesias also returned from the IL this week, moving Robert Suarez back to a set-up role. He was one of the few top closers who had been performing this year before his injury.
Through his first 9.2 innings, he has a 0.00 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, six saves plus holds and 13 strikeouts. The Braves have the best record in the National League, and the return of Iglesias only fortifies their bullpen.
Biggest Fallers
Brad Keller (RP – CIN) | -7
Brad Keller filled in admirably for Jhoan Duran but will return to a set-up role. He’s compiled a 4.30 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, six saves plus holds and a 9.2 K/9 through his first 14.2 innings. The Phillies’ bullpen has been a weakness, but this move gives it more promise.
Jeff Hoffman (RP – TOR) | -14
Jeff Hoffman hasn’t recorded a save since April 20th, but he has four holds since then. On the season, he has a 5.74 ERA, 1.79 WHIP, seven saves plus holds and a 16.7 K/9 across 15.2 innings.
Louis Varland has been almost as dominant with the strikeouts and has been much, much better at limiting the damage against him.
