Fantasy Impact:
After losing Ronny Henriquez for the season, the Marlins jumped quickly to replace him and they picked up one of the better relievers on the market in Fairbanks. The hard-throwing righthander has spent most of his career with the Rays, including the last three seasons as their primary closer, and sports a career 3.19 ERA with 332 strikeouts in 265.1 innings. Last year, Fairbanks recorded career-highs in appearances (61) and saves (27) while posting a 2.83 ERA. Fairbanks is expected to compete with Calvin Faucher, last year's team leader in saves (15), for the closer's role in Miami in 2026.
