Fantasy Impact:
Olivares comes back after playing for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan last season. He batted .213 in 61 games for Orix after being released by the Mets last January. Olivares brings plenty of big league experience to the Rays with nearly 1,000 plate appearances in five seasons. He has slashed .254/.306/.407 with the Padres, Royals, and Pirates. His best season came in 2023 when he batted .263 with 12 home runs and 11 stolen bases in 107 games with the Royals. Olivares gives the Rays another right-handed batting option in their left-handed heavy outfield.
