Keegan Thompson has been claimed off of waivers by the Colorado Rockies. Thompson was designed for assignment by the Reds in late December. (Colorado Rockies on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Thompson has not pitched at the major league level since 2024. The righthander pitched for the Cubs from 2021-24 and had some success as both a starter and a reliever. He won 10 games for the Cubs in 2022 and has posted a career ERA of 3.64 in 227.1 career innings. Given the state of Colorado's pitching, Thompson has a great chance to make the opening day roster and could be used in either role.
