Ryan Mountcastle avoids arbitration with Orioles

by David Leisering | Orioles Correspondent | Thu, Jan 8th 4:59pm EST

Ryan Mountcastle and the Baltimore Orioles have avoided arbitration as reported by Robert Murray. Mountcastle will make $6.787 million in 2026 with a club option worth $7.5 million in 2027. (Robert Murray on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Mountcastle suffered through an injury-plagued 2025 season and batted just .250 with seven home runs in 89 games with the Orioles. The first baseman has been in a steady decline in the power department since belting a career-high 33 home runs in 2021. He has a lifetime average of .263 over six seasons in Baltimore and is two home runs shy of 100 for his career. With the addition of Pete Alonso to the Baltimore lineup and with the Orioles expected to see what they have in Coby Mayo and Samuel Basallo, it will be interesting to see how much playing time Mountcastle will get in 2026.
