Miguel Amaya taking reps at first base for Cubs
by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Sat, Feb 28th 12:22am EST
Miguel Amaya has been getting some reps at first base for the Chicago Cubs this spring and could potentially see some innings there while backup first baseman Tyler Austin recovers from knee surgery. (Bruce Levine on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Amaya has 37 games of minor league experience at first base, but has only seen two games at Double-A at the position over the last four years. The Cubs are seemingly planning to carry three catchers and, with Michael Busch as the only healthy first baseman, at bats could be had for Amaya at both positions. Amaya could see some starts at first against lefties if all goes well during the spring.
