Bird was traded to the Yankees from Colorado prior to last year's deadline and the righthander pitched just two innings for New York, allowing six earned runs, before being demoted to Triple-A. Bird has a career ERA of 4.76 in 232.1 innings at the major league level. He will be given a chance to reclaim a bullpen spot in New York with a good spring.
