Nick Solak has agreed to a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres. The contract will presumably include an invitation to spring training. (MLB Trade Rumors on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Solak was drafted in the second round by the Yankees in the 2016 MLB Draft and was once a top-100 MLB prospect. He has played parts of six seasons in the majors and is a career .250 hitter in 985 plate appearances. Solak saw his most extensive work in 2021 when he played 127 games for the Rangers and batted .243 with 11 home runs. He spent most of last season in Triple-A and batted .332 with 14 home runs for Indianapolis in the Pirates' organization. He has experience playing nearly every position and his versatility gives him a shot to break camp with the Padres.
