Cade Cavalli signs one-year deal with Nationals

Cade Cavalli has signed a one-year deal to remain with the Washington Nationals and to avoid arbitration. The deal is worth $862,500 with a $4 million club option ($7,500 buyout) for 2027. (Jon Heyman on X)

Fantasy Impact:

Cavalli made 10 starts for the Nationals last season and went 3-1 with a 4.25 ERA in 48.2 innings. It was his first major league action since 2022 when he made his MLB debut with Washington. Once a top-30 MLB prospect, Cavalli has a 3.93 ERA in four minor league seasons, striking out 371 in 302.2 innings. Cavalli will occupy one of Washington's rotation spots to being the 2026 season.
