Fantasy Impact:
Thornton has pitched parts of seven seasons at the major league level with the Blue Jays and Mariners. His best seasons came in 2023 and 2024, primarily with Seattle, when he combined for a 3.12 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 103.2 innings. Last year, he appeared in 33 games with the Mariners and posted a 4.68 ERA. Given his experience at the big league level, Thornton could break camp on the Cubs' opening day roster with a good spring.
