Hampton underwent Tommy John surgery last spring. While New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he did not know Hampton’s exact progress, he added that he has seen a couple of his bullpen sessions, that “it keeps ticking up” and that Hampton is feeling really good. It remains unclear if he will pitch in a spring training game, but seeing him throw bullpens and feel healthy is a positive sign. Hampton pitched 18.2 innings in the minors in 2024, posting a 2.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 16 strikeouts.
