Drew Rasmussen has been named the Tampa Bay opening day starting pitcher against the St. Louis Cardinals according to Marc Topkin. (Marc Topkin on Twitter)

Rasmussen is rewarded after a stellar 2025 campaign leading a shorthanded Tampa Bay rotation, posting a 1.02 WHIP and 2.76 ERA to go along with 127 strikeouts over 31 starts (10-5). The right-hander will look to replicate his success while avoiding injuries that he was plagued by for much of the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
