Mike Clevinger competing for roster spot

Clevinger signed a non-roster contract with Pittsburgh in February. His first spring outing came on Feb. 25, when his fastball reached 97 mph. (Kevin Gorman)

He tossed three scoreless innings Monday against Tampa Bay, allowing one hit with three strikeouts and two walks. Across his two spring appearances, Clevinger has logged five scoreless innings with four strikeouts and four walks. He reports being fully healthy.
