McDaniels appeared in four games for the Dodgers this spring and allowed three runs on nine hits in 3.2 innings. The lefthander made his big league debut last season with the Angels and pitched to a 5.91 ERA in 10.2 innings. McDaniels has a career ERA of 3.38 in 80 minor league games and will likely open the year at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
