Hunter Greene (elbow) facing surgery, July return

Greene (elbow) made 19 starts during the 2025 regular season, with groin problems limiting his availability. Elbow issues surfaced during his final outings last season and persisted into this spring. (Gordon Wittenmyer)
Fantasy Impact:
Manager Terry Francona revealed last week that Greene required an MRI for the elbow problem. The imaging showed bone chips in his right elbow but no UCL damage. Surgery to remove the bone chips is scheduled for Wednesday. The recovery timeline projects a return in July, keeping him sidelined for approximately half the season. His 2026 workload will again be restricted.
