Matthew Boyd has been named the Opening Day starting pitcher for the Chicago Cubs according to Jesse Rogers. (Jesse Rogers on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
Boyd will take the mound against the Washington Nationals for manager Craig Counsell after posting a solid 3.21 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 31 starts (14-8, 154 strikeouts) during the 2025 season. The left-hander should once again be an innings-eating option as part of a Chicago rotation in a competitive NL Central division in 2026.
