Hoby Milner records one-out save Wednesday
by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Thu, Apr 30th 12:40am EDT
Hoby Milner earned his first save of the season on Wednesday, striking out the only batter he faced in preserving a 5-4 victory over the Padres.
Fantasy Impact:
Milner was brought in with two outs and nobody on in the ninth and struck out pinch-hitter, Ramon Laureano, for his first save of the year. It was his second career save, with the other coming in 2024 as a member of the Brewers. With the Cubs' bullpen ravaged by injuries, Milner had his number called on Wednesday and he could get a couple more chances while Chicago works on getting arms back. But, there is no need to run to wire to grab him if you are chasing saves.
