Padres right-hander Joe Musgrove (elbow) is not currently throwing and is increasingly likely to begin the season on the injured list. (Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune)
Fantasy Impact:
Musgrove pitched three innings in an exhibition game against Team Great Britain on March 4 but did not recover as hoped, and the righty hasn't thrown over the past few days. The team is calling it a "holding pattern" and a "pause", according to manager Craig Stammen, saying the club has Musgrove's best interests in mind. With Musgrove sidelined, Yu Darvish out for the season, and both Matt Waldron and Griffin Canning to open the season on the IL, the Padres' rotation has been thinned out to begin the 2026 season.
