Trey Yesavage (shoulder) to open season on 15-day IL
by Bruno Mulé | Blue Jays Correspondent | Thu, Mar 19th 11:09am EDT
Yesavage's slow build-up throughout spring training was the result of a right shoulder impingement he arrived to camp with, manager John Schneider confirmed Thursday. The Blue Jays don't expect him to need to stop throwing, and the plan calls for him to throw off a mound again next week — but he needs more time before he's ready for the regular season. Fantasy Impact:
With Yesavage, Shane Bieber (forearm) and Jose Berrios (elbow) all opening the year on the injured list, Cody Ponce, Max Scherzer and Eric Lauer are expected to round out the rotation alongside Dylan Cease and Kevin Gausman.
