Matthew Boyd roughed up in Opening Day start

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Thu, Mar 26th 11:06pm EDT

Matthew Boyd was touched up for six runs on six hits in 3.1 innings as the Chicago Cubs dropped a 10-4 decision to the Washington Nationals on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Boyd allowed only a solo home run to Joey Wiemer in the top of the second inning before getting tagged with five runs on five hits, while recording only one out, in the fourth. The lefthander walked one and struck out seven, throwing 45 of his 63 pitches for strikes. Boyd, an All-Star last year with the Cubs, will look to bounce back in his next start which is tentatively scheduled for next week against the Angels.
