Nathan Eovaldi struggles in season-opening loss

Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi struggled in a season-opening loss to the Phillies.
Fantasy Impact:
Eovaldi lasted just 4 2/3 innings in this one, surrendering five earned runs on eight hits, including a pair of home runs. He didn't walk a batter and struck out seven. A strong Phillies offense got to the veteran on Thursday, but it's important to note he posted a 1.73 ERA (2.80 FIP) across 22 starts in 2025 while posting an ERA between 3.63 and 3.87 from 2020-2024. He remains one of the most consistent pitchers in the game and should be a steady hand for fantasy owners again in 2026.
