David Bednar earned the save in Friday's 3-0 win over the Giants.

Bednar issued one walk over a scoreless frame on 19 pitches to secure the save. The veteran right-hander enters the 2026 season as the favorite to see the majority of save chances out of the bullpen for manager Aaron Boone after posting a 2.30 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 64 relief appearances (6-5, 27 saves) with the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees in 2025.
