Smith was selected in the sixth round by the Nationals in the 2025 MLB Draft and has yet to suit up in the minor leagues. He played collegiately at Wright State and batted .330 with 26 home runs and 72 RBI in 59 games in his final season with the Raiders. Primarily a catcher, Smith will likely head to the lower levels of the minors to begin his development.
