Will Warren labors but limits damage in 3-1 win

by Chris Schommer | Yankees Correspondent | Sun, Mar 29th 9:37am EDT

Will Warren allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 4 1/3 innings in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Warren labored through many at-bats despite facing an underperforming San Francisco lineup, averaging just over 19 pitches per inning in a short first start for manager Aaron Boone. The right-hander will need to provide more consistency on the mound as part of a Yankees rotation without Gerrit Cole (elbow) and Carlos Rodon (elbow) to begin the season while remaining a risky option for fantasy managers despite the benefit of pitching behind a dynamic Yankees lineup as the season moves forward.
