Nolan Schanuel belts second home run of season

by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Sun, Mar 29th 9:47am EDT

Nolan Schanuel hit a three-run homer off of Astros' reliever Bryan Abreu in the ninth inning for his only hit of the game as the Angels dropped an 11-9 decision to Houston on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Schanuel went 1-for-5 with a strikeout but his three-run homer off of Abreu pulled the Angels to within two in the top of the ninth. The Angels' first baseman is 4-for-13 with two home runs and four RBI in three games this season. He's always been a solid contact hitter with decent plate discipline, but the early power has been a pleasant surprise to the start of the year. His career-high in home runs is 13 set in 2024, so he's making an early run to try to surpass that number in 2026.
