Connor Phillips collects save Tuesday
by Brenton Kemp | Reds Correspondent | Tue, Mar 31st 7:48am EDT
Reds right-hander Connor Phillips notched his first career save on Monday against the visiting Pirates.
Fantasy Impact:
A day after Emilio Pagan racked up his first save of the season, Phillips followed suit, only with the first save of his career. The 24-year-old did walk a pair of Pirates hitters but also struck out one and got out of the inning unscatched, securing a 2-0 win the process. Pagan will see the bulk of save opportunities for the Reds this season, but Phillips' 2.88 ERA in 21 outings from last season should earn him some high-leverage spots and potentially some holds this season.
