Clay Holmes one out shy of quality start in Mets win

Gorman tagged Holmes for a solo homer in the sixth inning with one out remaining in what would have been a quality start, ending his night. Holmes had allowed a run in the first before shutting St. Louis down over the following four frames.

He finished 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five, and earned the win. Holmes lines up to face San Francisco in his next start.
