Gabe Speier earns save Friday

by Ari Koslow | Mariners Correspondent | Sat, Apr 4th 1:03am EDT

Gabe Speier allowed one (unearned) run over one inning with one strikeout for his first save of the season on Friday against the Angels.

Fantasy Impact:

Speier took the mound in the 10th inning after Matt Brash and Andres Munoz pitched the eighth and ninth innings. After the game went scoreless in nine innings, Seattle poured in three runs in the top of the 10th inning to give Speier some run support for the save. He retired the Angels in order with the ghost runner on second base scoring. He'll continue to pitch in the seventh and eighth innings most appearances.
