Jordan Romano records one-out save Monday
by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Tue, Apr 7th 12:42am EDT
Jordan Romano picked up his fourth save of the season on Monday as he got Mike Yastrzemski to fly out with two runners on to preserve a 6-2 win over the Braves.
Fantasy Impact:
Romano came on in relief of Chase Silseth, who started the ninth with a 6-1 lead. The Braves got a leadoff home run from Mauricio Dubon, a one-out single from Drake Baldwin, and a two-out walk to Austin Riley which prompted Romano to come into the game. Romano threw three pitches and got Yastrzemski to fly out to center field to end the game. Romano is tied for the major league lead, with the Yankees' David Bednar, with four saves to begin the season. He has not allowed a run, or a hit, in six appearances and has a 7:2 K:BB ratio. Romano was supposedly holding the fort down until Kirby Yates returned from injury. But, he has been so good thus far, that he may keep the closer's job once Yates comes back.
