Jose Soriano sensational in win over Braves Monday

by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Tue, Apr 7th 12:22am EDT

Jose Soriano tossed eight dominant innings on Monday, allowing just one run on three hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts for his third victory of the season. The Angels defeated the Braves, 6-2.

Fantasy Impact:

Soriano (3-0), arguably, has been the story of baseball through the opening week-and-a-half of the 2026 season. The righthander completely shut down the Braves on Monday, allowing only a solo home run to Drake Baldwin in the top of the first inning. The 10 strikeouts marked the third time he has recorded double-digit punchouts in a game in his career. He recorded 19 consecutive outs - from Matt Olson's single in the first to Mike Yastrzemski's single in the eighth. Soriano is now 3-0 with a 0.45 ERA as he has allowed just one run on seven hits in 20 innings with a 21:6 K:BB ratio. He'll take his sparkling numbers into his next start against the Reds on Sunday. He should not be available in any league at this point.
