Shane McClanahan struggles with command Monday

by Nicholas Rodriguez | Rays Correspondent | Tue, Apr 7th 4:47am EDT

Shane McClanahan allowed two earned runs on one hit and four walks while striking out five over four innings in Monday's 6-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

Fantasy Impact:

It’s no surprise that McClanahan is experiencing some command issues, as he’s made just his second big-league start since 2023. While he’s issued seven walks over 8.2 innings, there are still positives to take away, as opposing hitters are batting just .103 against him and he’s recorded nine strikeouts. Fantasy managers will need to remain patient as McClanahan works to regain his command and settle in, but he has shown he still has the stuff to be the dominant pitcher he was from 2021-23. His next scheduled start is on Sunday against the New York Yankees.
