Reid Detmers hit hard in loss to Braves on Wednesday
by David Leisering | Angels Correspondent | Wed, Apr 8th 11:35pm EDT
Reid Detmers allowed six runs - five earned - on five hits, walked two, and struck out four in 4.1 innings as the Angels suffered an 8-2 loss to the Braves on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact:
Detmers (0-1) was charged with at least one run in every inning except the fourth and he allowed at least one baserunner in all five innings he appeared in. Four of the five hits he allowed (three doubles, one home run) went for extra bases. He departed after pitching to two batters in the fifth - a leadoff single to Ozzie Albies and a flyout by Matt Olson - with Albies coming in to score later in the inning. Detmers saw his ERA climb to 4.60 after the outing, but still has a respectable 1.28 WHIP and a 17:6 K:BB ratio through 15.2 innings. He's slated to start against the Yankees his next time out.
