Michael Petersen nails down first save of season

by Nicholas Rodriguez | Marlins Correspondent | Thu, Apr 9th 5:46am EDT

Michael Petersen earned his first save of the season, striking out two batters and allowing two hits in a scoreless inning during Wednesday’s 7-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Impact:

Petersen earned the save on Wednesday with Pete Fairbanks on the paternity list, working around a leadoff single to Tyler Stephenson. He owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.60 WHIP across five appearances. While he isn’t expected to see many save opportunities once Fairbanks returns, Petersen could be used in some high-leverage situations. He’s best left on waivers.
