by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Sat, Apr 11th 10:15pm EDT

Braxton Ashcraft settled for a no-decision on Saturday after allowing just a run on four hits while walking one and striking out a career-high nine in five innings. The Pirates defeated the Cubs, 4-3, in 11 innings.

Fantasy Impact:

Ashcraft struck out at least one batter in all five innings en route to a career-high nine punchouts on Saturday. He broke his previous high of eight he recorded in his last start against the Orioles. The righthander has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners thus far, going 1-1 with a 2.12 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP in 17 innings. He ranks tied for seventh in the National League with 20 strikeouts. Ashcraft is scheduled to take the mound again on Thursday against the Nationals.
