Reds right-hander Rhett Lowder threw 6 2/3 innings of three-run ball en route to a win over the Giants on Wednesday.

The Reds staked Lowder to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, and he took it from there. The 24-year-old allowed three earned runs on five hits and a walk in his 6 2/3 innings of work. He also struck out four. The win was Lowder's second of the season, and he will carry a 3.52 ERA into his next scheduled start on Monday against the Rays.
