by Nicholas Rodriguez | Rays Correspondent | Sun, Apr 19th 6:34am EDT
Yoendrys Gomez recorded his first save of the season in Saturday’s extra-inning win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, allowing no earned runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one over one inning.
Fantasy Impact:
Gomez entered the game in the 13th inning and limited the Pirates to just one run, the automatic runner placed at second base in extras, to seal the win for the Tampa Bay Rays. Gomez has made seven appearances out of the bullpen and owns a 6.75 ERA and 1.73 WHIP with 10 strikeouts across 13.1 innings. He is not expected to see many save opportunities this season, making him best left on waivers.
